1st Virtual Meeting Neurosurgery '99

The advances of Internet and discussion lists has allowed the
exchange of knowledge between people with common interests
who are separated by great distances. The virtual congress constituted
a sort of meeting relatively new, that offers some advantages overthe traditionally accepted presential congress.

The 1st Virtual Congress related to sciences of life was held in 1994.
Since then at least thirty of those have been held. They are
characterized by forms of exposition through web pages, with
debates by e-mail and communications on-line (IRC).

Taking advantages of this 6th Congress of Neurosurgery and the
growing development of Infomed we have decided to include the
tempting possibility of presenting the works in a 1st Virtual Meeting
of our specialty.

We hope that the experience that we obtain from this event, the first of its type in Cuba, will allow us to develop better forms of exposition as well as debates for future meetings.
