Participation

Access to the different
activities of the virtual meeting will take place through Internet (Infomed and UNINET). The questions and answers will be formulated through the electronic mail and IRC sessions (ON LINE Comunication) in uninet.sld.cu, channel #neurocon. Papers can be sent as conferences and/or communications (free topics and posters). According to each activity, the text will be exhibited as Web pages. The works to be presented in the virtual congress will remain available in the Web of the congress and can be review for one year after finalized the event. In order to make easy the participation of the lecturers, relators and panelists, instructions will be published and distributed by e-mail to those inscribed and it will be available in the Web. Whoever is subscribed to the virtual Congress and resides in Cuba will have access to the Web through the provincial nodes, medical libraries, hospitals, polyclinics and other institutions that have the appropriate hardware support. This access shall last all the time the virtual congress will be sitting. The timetable available for those subscribed to have the possibility to review, make questions and answer papers, will be given by each particular institution. During the sessions of the presential Congress, between December 13th and December 17th, a room will be enabled with several computers connected to Infomed at the hospital CIMEQ. Participants will have access to the virtual meeting if they wish to do so. At the end of the Congress, it will be make a CD with all papers on Congress, Virtual and Presential also. Papers related with Neurosurgery and applications of Internet to the development of this field are accepted. The end date of reception will be: November 5th, 1999. It is free and gratuitous for all those involved in health care (Physicians, nurses, technicians of health care, computer staff). Several people can register through a same electronic mailbox.
